How to explore your backdoor with hemorrhoids

While hemorrhoids can be an actual pain in the ass, they’re way more common than you think. Many people want to know how to explore your backdoor with hemorrhoids they just don’t want to talk about them! but since 75% of people can get them occasionally more people have had them than haven’t. So no need to feel insecure or self-conscious about something that most of the population will have to deal with at some point in their life. Hemorrhoids actually develop to protect you from pressures and friction. Hemorrhoids are just swollen veins in the anal canal that can develop either inside the rectum (internal) or under the skin around the anus (external). When they get irritated or enlarged. Then they can cause problems such as bleeding, itching, and pain. But don’t worry you can still explore your backdoor with hemorrhoids and I’ll tell you all the ways!

There are lots of reasons you can get hemorrhoids, like straining on the toilet, heavy lifting, chronic constipation, urinary retention issues, chronic cough, age, pregnancy, etc. But will anal sex cause hemorrhoids? While anal sex can increase anal pressure and might cause spasms. Anal sex itself might irritate the sensitive tissue, particularly if you’re not using enough lube! Despite these things, anal sex when safely performed, will not result in hemorrhoids. In the case of pre-existing hemorrhoids, however, anal sex can certainly irritate, inflame, or make them worse; which can lead to pain, bleeding, or even prolapse. You’ll need to ultimately listen to your body and take it slow if you want to figure out how to explore your backdoor with hemorrhoids, but it can be done.

Planning Ahead

Adding a daily Fiber supplement and making sure your diet is full of fiber can be incredibly helpful for folks who deal with hemorrhoids. Adding high-fiber food to your diet can offer many benefits. By making your poop softer, they help heal and prevent swollen hemorrhoids. Also making sure your body is hydrated should be a priority! This is super important, and don’t underestimate how being dehydrated will affect your body. Trust me, making sure your body is hydrated is the first step to healing yourself! Then think about adding a Squatty potty to your bathroom, which can make bowel movements even easier, and a bidet (I personally love the Tushy) to make wiping a breeze. A nice low-pressure, warm water stream from a bidet can aid in easing the pressure on veins in a way that’s similar to a sitz bath. A bidet also helps limit further soreness by phasing out the need to wipe with dry toilet paper. Then you simply need is a gentle pat to dry.

Soaking a cotton ball in witch hazel and leaving it on the affected area can help shrink hemorrhoids as well as provide some relief. The Aneros Tempo was specifically designed to provide a therapeutic massage of hemorrhoids. You simply put it in and can kegel around the plug to help massage the area from the inside. Basically, It can help get blood flowing and reduce swelling. Since the Tempo is made out of stainless steel you can also run it under cool or warm water to cool or warm it up which can also provide relief and healing. Slowly insert the Tempo up to only its neck. Do not use force; allow it to glide in gently with plenty of lubricant (I recommend Southern Butter because of its healing ingredients). Then gradually tighten the PC-sphincter muscles and your body will naturally pull the Tempo deeper inside the anal canal. Then you’ll be able to start contracting your PC-sphincter muscles again, playing around with different strengths, durations, and eventually different body positions.

Using firm, smooth toys to warm up before other penetration is a good idea to warm up your backdoor. Toys like Icicles No.89 or the Le Wand Bow are great for this. Think of it as stretching before you run a marathon, your body will thank you afterward. Regularly opening up your sphincter muscles help relax your pelvic floor, which can relieve pressure and friction and help you become more open to other forms of penetration.

Try different positions

Positions that avoid depth or lessen contact with your hemorrhoids might make it easier for you to have sex. Depending on the hemorrhoids positioning itself and the sex you want to have you might have to play around with those adjustments. Keep in mind that backdoor exploration doesn’t have to mean penetration. And sometimes it might just not be a good time to have penetrative sex, and that’s totally fine. If someone makes you feel bad about it, I suggest reexamining your relationship because at the end of the day your partner should be supportive and not make you feel bad about something they will likely deal with at some point in their life.

Also, remember when I said that hemorrhoids were caused by pressure. While anal sex itself won’t cause hemorrhoids, exploring without the proper lube might cause a hemorrhoid flare-up especially if you’re only using spit because spit is not lube! So using a proper lubricant, and reapplying when you need more is going to be super important. Thicker formulas are best because not only do they put a nice cushion for delicate tissues, but they tend to last longer because of the thicker texture. So Wicked hybrid Jelle is a good option because it has a little silicone so it lasts longer than a full water-based formula, and its thicker texture will put a nice cushion, with the little bit of silicone will last longer.

Anal exploration should never hurt. If it hurts, it means you need to adjust something. Maybe it’s sizing down in toy or whatever you’re exploring with. Maybe it’s adding more lube or a thicker formula of lubricant. It could mean switching positions, or it could mean saving the exploration for another day if your body just can’t adjust comfortably to it. Sometimes our bodies are fickle and it’s just not the day to explore, and it might be the day to explore a different sensation.

Aftercare!

warm baths especially with Epsom salts, my favorite kind of aftercare. There’s a particular formula that also has added tea tree oil which is also healing. Using southern butter backdoor healing balm after exploration, penetration, or even after a shower or a bowel movement can help keep skin moisturized and healing because of the many healing ingredients in the formula. Ice packs and cold compresses can help relieve swelling, just leave for about 15 minutes at a time. For large, painful hemorrhoids, cold compresses ice can be an extremely effective treatment. Just be sure to wrap ice inside a cloth or paper towel. Never apply something frozen directly to your skin, since this can harm or damage the skin.

If you’re somewhere that THC is legal then finding a suppository can be helpful for pain relief and healing, but that will depend on your location. CBD might be an easier option, but legality will also depend on your location.

Surgery is an option

Remember that surgery is also an option. No one wants to get surgery on such a delicate area of the body, but imagine the relief you’ll feel when you don’t have to worry about hemorrhoids anymore. So, as someone who personally deals with hemorrhoids, I strongly urge you to use your best judgment and err on the side of caution when exploring anal sex with active hemorrhoids. The good news is that your body is really great at letting you know when things aren’t right, it’s just up to you to listen and back off your butt!
